Inspiration Board

Welcome to my Inspiration Board! 

  My inspiration board features some of the things I find interesting and cool that help me develop my skills in design.

I try to look at everything as inspiration.  I love to create and be creative and like to be open to new techniques and ideas.

Typography

Typography is something new to me that I have just begun to learn. I love the way type can convey a certain message in a unique manner and be used as art and design in many forms.

Water

Water has been an inspiration for design because it is multifaceted.  Water can take on many forms, and the colors can change depending on the light.

Textures

   Great inspiration can be found in textures.  They can be anywhere from animals and nature, to the simple everyday items we sometimes overlook.  Anywhere I go, I try to capture any unique ( or even ordinary ) texture I find interesting.  Light plays a role, making the texture appear to have a strong or weak contrast.  These images are  photos I took, and I really like the repetition of shape and line in these images (plus fur and human hands).  I have even stopped people who have had a great pattern on their clothes to take a picture for future ideas!

Mosaics

Mosaics are a great design medium.  Mosaics use elements of shape, lines, color and textures in several ways to produce an impression of light, space, movement and volume on a surface.

Flowers

      

I have always liked flowers, especially orchids and iris.  I used to draw these flowers all the time when I was younger, because I loved the way the flower seemed to have a beautiful curve to it and the rich colors they produced (and how they photographed)
